This Thursday, Addteq is hosting their 12th DevOps Princeton meetup. This month’s event is all about ChatOps and Automation and will be held in the newest location: Synchronoss, in Bridgewater, NJ.
"ChatOps is a collaborative DevOps model based on chat applications and tools for real-time communication and task execution among members of development and IT operations teams. The model is sometimes referred to as conversation-driven collaboration or conversation-driven development."
The talk will showcase the following ChatOps use cases that Addteq utilizes regularly to empower Development and Operation roles:
-
Through chat, users can enable self provisioning for various application test environments. These applications are deployed as Docker containers using Rancher. Rancher is used for container orchestration across on-premise and cloud infrastructures.
-
A look at integrations with Stackstorm, Grafana, Elasticsearch, and Nagios for providing rich context in group chat around log aggregation, monitoring, and graphing.
-
With a single chat command, users can enable a one-step cloud infrastructure provisioning that also invokes configuration management tools (such as Ansible) for system and network hardening.
