Addteq’s Graphviz add-on is now available for Confluence Cloud and better then ever!
According to the official Graphviz website: “Graphviz is open source graph visualization software. Graph visualization is a way of representing structural information as diagrams of abstract graphs and networks. It has important applications in networking, bioinformatics, software engineering, database and web design, machine learning, and in visual interfaces for other technical domains.”
Confluence is Addteq’s favorite Collaboration tool and Graphviz is an amazing graph visualization tool. We wanted to provide users the convenience of being able to utilize Graphviz as part of Confluence cloud. With that, we have now released the Confluence Cloud add-on in the Atlassian Marketplace.
Until now, there was no way to create, edit, or share Graphviz charts through Confluence. Addteq has developed the Graphviz plugin for Confluence to solve this problem.
By simply clicking a button, users can begin writing code into Confluence documents that will be rendered into corresponding charts. Addteq’s plugin indicates to the user if there has been a syntax error in their code and directs the user to exact line where the error was detected, as well as uses default style classes to move past potential blocker errors within your code. With the Graphviz plugin for Confluence, your team will be empowered to view, track, and collaborate around Graphviz code and charts.
Every programming language or tool has the classic “Hello World” example and in Graphviz the code would look like:
digraph G {Hello->World}
In Confluence Cloud, once you install the add-on you can utilize the Graphviz macro which will open up a convenient code editor where you can preview the code and insert it as a diagram into the page as shown in the video below:
Some other cool Graphviz diagrams generated by the add-on are:
